Edwardian Pre-Ball

There is an annual event in San Francisco called The Edwardian Ball. It is a two night event where San Franciscans and visitors don their Victorian and Edwardian finest and gather to this most beautiful, and because its san francisco, slightly weird gala. It takes place at the Regency Ballroom where dancing and live music plays on the main floor, a full eclectic market downstairs where you can purchase anything from antiques to corsets, pocket watches to crocheted penises (trust me I saw this last year, I believe it was marketed as ‘a bag of dicks’). Like I said, it’s in San Francisco so we like things a little on the weird side here. This was my second year attending and since all my friends looked so amazing last year I decided to do a little photo shoot set up in my house before the ball.

My girlfriends and I spent over 4 hours getting ready which definitely made it feel like a classier more grown up prom. Up do’s, glitter and corsets where the hot ticket items that made every girl feel like an edwardian princess. There were no boobs left un-lifted as we were strapped in, wondering how women used to wear these as a daily piece of clothing, seriously, how did they do it?

Have I ever mentioned how lucky I am to have such a fabulous looking group of friends who will jump in front of the camera at a moments notice? Without further adieu here are some pictures in full edwardian fashion.
